In march 2016 I was the first time in Uganda.
I visited my daughter Stella; she wanted me to get to know this beautiful country and the friendly people.
Stella hired a jeep and we made impressive trips to lake Mburo, Elisabeth National Park, Jinja, the Equator, Fort Portal and of course we did a city tour through Kampala.
The nature and wildlife is beautiful!
My first camping holiday, here at Lake Mburo
Stella drove with me through the Kibale Forst and wanted to overnight with me in a treehouse (Chimp’s nest), but unfortunately it wasn’t longer in use.
And at a national park we met friends of Stella and went on a great trip hoping to see Gorillas; there we had to cross a ‘brittle’ bridge. I’m proud that I managed to cross this bridge.
We visited the place Kayabwe where the Uganda Equator is situated. Uganda is one of the few countries where the imaginary line divides the earth into two half passes.
We visited different impressive places in Kampala and the Acholi Quarter, where I met Susan and the other women, who work for 22Stars.
We had nice and interesting days in Jinja and attented a Church session in the Danida area.
In Jinja I met David and his wife Aidah.
Aidah give cooking workshops and some of her recipes I like to share with you.

You want to know how did Stella come to Uganda?
In 2009 Stella wrote her Thesis: “Legal protection of girl child soldiers within the Lord Resistance Army”
So she came for further investigation to Uganda and came in contact with David, his wife Aidah and Susan.
And the idea to help the women in the Acholy Quarter, Kampala and Danida slums in Jinja was born.
To help the children to go to school “Education is the key”, Stella set up a foundation:
22Stars Kids Foundation https://www.foundation22stars.org/
